Beginner Fusing
Thursdays, January 8-29, 7-10pm, $295 ($280.95 + gst)
All materials included, tools provided for use in class. Learn stained glass’s hottest craze, glass fusing. This easy-to- grasp technique is a great stress reliever! The course will cover glass compatibility, equipment use, and multi-layer fusing. Use sheet glass, frit, stringers and dichroic to create fused jewellery, an 8” fused dish and an 8” X 12” fused picture.

Traditional Techniques; Lead Came II - Intermediate
Thursdays, Feb 5 - Mar 12,
7-10pm, $195
Some materials included, tools provided for use in class. Extend your basic lead came knowledge and challenge yourself to a more intricate design. Use symmetry, bevel clusters and different came profiles to create a standard size door insert. Glass and metals not included.

Fused Paper Weights
Thursdays,Mar 5 & 12,
7:30-9:30pm, $50
Create 2 simply beautiful glass pieces. Using dichroic, coarse frit, confetti, stringers and crystal clear glass create a pyramid and dome shaped paper weight. Materials and firing included. You may choose to have your pieces cold worked by GP for $30, or book a private lesson and do it yourself for $50.

Fused Mosaic Lamps
Thursdays, Mar 26 & April 2,
7-10pm, $125
Set the mood with softly glowing fused and slumped mosaic style lamps. A combination of two techniques written up in Glass Patterns Quarterly, each student will create both the shade and the stand. Materials and electrical included. Beginners welcome.

Advanced Fused Jewellery
Thursdays, April 9, 16 & 23,
7:30-9:30pm, $150
Learn how to use fibre paper and wire during the firing process to create jewellery pieces that do not require bails. Add copper inclusions, fire dichro, gold and sepia slides. Once fired, return to use tile saw, wire saw and dremal to shape and recreate. Fire polish and add the finishing touches. All firings and materials included. Must have taken beginner fusing please.

Private Individual or Group Lessons

Can't make a class or workshop? Glowing Panes offers private individual and group classes or workshops. This is a great oppertunity to receive critique and pointers to enhance your stained or fused glass technique or to learn something new. Otherwise, organize a group of friends and make a night or day of it! Contact melanie@glowingpanes.net for further details

A $75 deposit (refundable with a minimum 1 week notice- NO EXCEPTIONS) is required to register in any of these courses. The balance is due on the first evening of the course. No refunds will be given to anyone unable to attend all classes.
