Stained glass heaven: a store, a studio and a training ground for future stained glass addicts. Glowing Panes was created by Laura Heathcote, who began her professional stained glass career in 1977. Armed with a bachelor's degree in fine arts and a few years teaching, she opened a small studio in suburban north Toronto. The business expanded, moved twice and now, in the town of Markham, encompasses 3500 square feet and a helpful, friendly and experienced staff of six.

Red Barn, Haliburton School of the Arts, look out! Glowing Panes has gone north! Beginning May 22, 2009, GP will offer it’s first fused and stained glass retreat on beautiful Six Mile Lake, Georgian Bay Township, Ontario. We have set up a state of the art studio at the exclusive Timber Lodge Cottage, www.clrm.ca/cottages_muskoka_almaquin/timberwood.html, and will be hosting seasonal, all-inclusive glass workshop retreats for the beginner and advanced glass hobbyist. Studio Space Available
Do you teach classes and would love clean, well set up, exclusive teaching space? Glowing Panes studio is available for rent to fellow artists, studios, groups and instructors. Includes 1 washroom, 1 laundry sink, storage space, and 6 - 4’x8’ work tables, all for the cost of $150/hr based on a minimum of 3 hour time slot. Sundays, Mondays and Wednesday and Friday night slots available. Discounted rates for 4, 8 & 12 sessions available. Please contact Melanie@glowingpanes.net for details.
Mother’s Day Special
Saturday May 9, 10am - 12pm, 2 for $120
A great Mother’s day gift, time with a loved one and fusing fun! Start your adventures in fused glass learning the basic principles of glass co-efficients, multi-layer designs and hot box kilns. Each participant will create several small pieces suitable for jewellery, bottle stoppers, key chains and more. Findings not included.
